About
meditation4kids
Gives them the tools to take control
emotionally and mentally, giving them the power to decide how they will
respond (rather than react) to life’s pressures.
Visually guided meditation encourages children to flex that imagination.
Like a muscle needs exercise, so does the imagination; reminding and
encouraging them to dream and to create. To create solutions! Our children
are faced with many challenges everyday.
Visualisation
"Psychologists have discovered that when visualising the brain
cannot differentiate between what is real and what is imagined".
We can visualize sitting on a beach, wriggling our toes in the warm
sand, inhaling the salt air and listening to the waves crashing onto
the rocks. Seagulls squawking as they fly overhead and a soft breeze,
feels gentle and cool on our skin. By engaging as many senses as possible
during visualization, we are tricking the mind into believing that we
are really experiencing all those things.
Affirmations
A way for us to turn our negative self-talk into positive statements.
Affirmations are positive thoughts that have great power. These thoughts
are like seeds we plant in our minds. Children are constantly filled
with apprehension and self doubt when faced with new situations and
challenges; kindergarten, school, making new friends etc. When children
are particularly anxious or worried they also have negative thoughts
and feelings.
